My subject line is a deliberate parody of their sensitive and well balanced reporting. I was particularly taken with their description of Imbolc as "the festival of lactating sheep". Whilst being aware one proposed derivation of the name is "ewe's milk" I think they might have lost something in translation there!! Even if we accept this contentious etymology the "ewe's milk" is surely a metaphorical example of the first stirrings of spring? www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1336181/Pagan-prisoners-given-time-worship-Sun-God.html?ito=feeds-newsxmlSensationalist and deliberately offensive terminology aside, should prisoners get such religious holidays? As a family man I can't spare the annual leave to take four sabbats off work just because I fancy it. Its a tricky one to answer in my opinion...
