Ok I am going to kick this off. I like to have a go at writing poetry. I am not that great, but I enjoy it and here is one of my favourites:
To Spring Shoots As To Witch
To wrestle through arms of comfort, cold, To blaze the path through ice and snow. To stand so small, yet firm and brave, Spurred by glories past and ventures failed. To know time will come, to shine again, And patiently await 'til then, Holding promise, outweighing present, In shifting phase to full, from crescent.
~ Imbolc 2009
I wrote it on an extremely cold Imbolc day. I had gone for a walk in the Lickey Hills and as I walked towards the hills I had stopped to admire some crocus shoots, as the first stirrings of spring. Halfway around my walk it started to snow. By the time I came back past the shoots they were poking out of the top of a white blanket!! As best as I could tell from later visits they survived and flowered...

This is a great poem, I love the contrasts and I agree with summerstorm - very powerful and thought provoking.
