Does anyone have any daily observances, or similar, that draws comments or funny looks from friends or strangers. When I was in Birmingham I lived about 10 minutes walk from work. The walk was principally down a main road, a dual carriage way. I used to walk down the central reservation, which was grass flanked on either side by trees, drawing up the earth energies. My little daily tipping of the hat to nature and setting me up for the day at the same time. I thought it was normal enough to get away with but my wife's friends asked her about it, and shortly after that a couple of people asked me about it in my work place. I told my friend at work it was my way of connecting with nature, a Pagan thing. He replied "I suspect its a you thing"! Does anyone else have little meanigful daily routines, or is my work mate right? ;D As a little aside to this I was sad today as one of my trees on the central reservation has been torn down, for the building of a toucan crossing. It was a lovely little rowan tree and its now lying tossed to one side in a little crumpled heap.

(hehe) Trust a a Mr Brooky ;D I always give greetings to a few chosen trees on the walk with the dogs (only the friendliest ones!), as far as I know no-one has witnessed the bow! Erm.. I throw food out of the kitchen window for the fishes and things, with a little smile on my face but knowing boaty types (if they ever see me) probably just think I'm polluting - I swear they are all getting moodier and less chilled out. I met a man the other day who was proud of the amount of fights he had started on the towpath for the inainest little things, chill out and cheer up!!! Anyways rant over Joe

(hehe) Trust a a Mr Brooky ;D I know I am such an attention seeker!! Seriously I thought I would get away with that without drawing attention to myself. I was so shocked when people started mentioning it! (hehe) I met a man the other day who was proud of the amount of fights he had started on the towpath for the inainest little things, chill out and cheer up!!! Good grief! That's not the impression of "messing about on the river" I got from Ratty in The Wind In The Willows!! What kinds of things was he boasting about fighting over? (hehe) I always give greetings to a few chosen trees on the walk with the dogs (only the friendliest ones!), as far as I know no-one has witnessed the bow! So it maybe a Pagan thing and not a " me thing" after all. Unless we're both barking, which is a distinct possibility!

Really Mr Brook? Walking down the middle of a dual carriageway every day? No-one would notice? (hehe) Is it regular behaviour in Brum? They are known for being a little strange over there!
.:*~*:.
The man was a fool. People going past to fast.. following them along the towpath hurling abuse, people cycling past his boat, dogs barking at him, so on and so forth. He probably set fire to someones boat cause it's a Tuesday and they smiled at him. But on the up side met a really nice lady today, Sparky and Nixon danced with her dog from the spinney to the bridge and she didn't mind at all she stopped and talked for a minute before jumping back on her boat and off she went - restored my faith ;D I give the lady an A*
.:*~*:.
I think it's a nice thing and more people should stop and pay their surroundings a bit more attention, it could make the world a nicer place. You speak for yourself, I'm fine it's everyone else who is barking!

I hope you were nice back and didn't display any of the behaviour you learned from Mr "Charm School" Towpath?!?!

I was the apitomy of class and charm! ;D
Back to the original topic, I always give a little greeting to the moon whenever I see her and I am on a mad apple pick at the moment (cider making if anyone has any apples that are going free, they would be gratefully recieved), I have said thank you for every apple and given each tree a little bow.
On the topic of tree's I have just had to kill a damson because of it's position. I said sorry to it and did it as respectfully as possible. How would you go about it?

I would probably leave a bio-degradable, natural offering - pour a little honey that sort of thing - to the Dryad, and preferably plant a new young tree as close as possible to the spot for it. Just what comes to my mind.

Not exactly daily but at the weekend I got out for a walk in the countryside around Dunchurch.
Really blew the cobwebs away and symbolically cemented my return to Rugby. Felt great to be out there.
When the move has finally, fully completed I can't wait to spend more time connecting with Nature. I hate that cut off feeling I get, when all I do is home to work and back home again, with supermarket weekends. It all has its place but so does greeting the Gods!

Thankyou, I think the spirit of the tree will be fine, it'll just have hurt feelings , damsons grow through runners, all of the trees in the garden are probably of the same spirit and the same tree (not of the everything is everything conversation, just the same tree as lots!)
I am glad your settling back into Rugby, it is good to have you back As you have said not long now and if you would ever like some company on a walk I am only a phone call away. I want a go on the see-saw gate! (hehe)

Of course mate I have two books of walks around the area, some quite close to you. We can go walking anytime, if you can cope with the lumbering pace of fat bloke with a dodgy left ankle and a dodgier right knee!!

That would be wicked! Just let me know when you are free. As I am not sure but I think you have a few more responsibilities than me! Didn't realise it, cause I am rubbish and if something isn't right in front of me I don't see it but I've really missed you!
