Thankyou Mr Robur for planting a thought. I have a small managerie of bird feeders in a tree just outside my tableroom window, I don't fill them anymore because all the birds came to visit me and my feeders instead of the twitcher who lives next door! But your right, it is a hard time for birds at the moment. So I have filled a couple of them just until this weather stops and the nuts are going like hot cakes! They can't get enought of them. The little fluffs are fine for water because I have to keep the ice broken on the chickens pond. Never mind the birds, I hope everyone is ready for the next couple of days! The forecast is not good. (fingers crossed i get snowed in ) Unfortunately I can't build any snowpeople I trapped my finger between a brick and a moving hammer. All I have to do is look at it and it hurts. But I challange you all to build the bestest!!!!! Happy thoughts

[fingers crossed Mr Brooky gets snowed in at the weekend with his family]
That wold be nicer. I don't mind when I get snowed in, just as long as it happens:). Haven't been for years *contemplates moving to scotland* Nahhh... silly idea!
If it was to happen while you were in Brum you'd have to live off grass, carpet and skirtingboard stew.. could benice with the right herbs?! or just flavour it with a bit of plaster and plug hole gunk? I don't know.. you could always imagineer some flavour!
So much for the mountainous snow. [frowny sad face] never mind plenty more winter yet!

I love the snow!!! Especially when I haven't got to get anywhere in a hurry. I hope we do get more but that it waits until I get home from work as I can't imagine getting stuck in the snow 40 miles from home can be much fun.

Thanks to Robur for pointing out about the attachment option, hope this works. I am obviously no photographer, but I had to snap these trees on my cameraphone the other day. Can't do them justice here, but they were absolutely beautiful. Sol Attachments:

Yes, that haw frost seemed quite exceptional. I can't recall frost that heavy, with just frost, for some years.
I was tempted to go outside and take some snaps myself. But it was just too cold.

It was an amazing frost, I have never seen the ivy berries look like stars before! There has been no boats for about a month. It'sbeen amazing weather.

I agree, the frost was quite a beautiful sight... I took a walk around Caldecott park and felt like I was in Narnia! In my 28 years I've never seen frost like it. The cobwebs in my back garden were magical
